Fusion Academy Offers Alternative Education Where Students Thrive

Written by paigewolf

The Philadelphia area has had a surge in alternative schools designed to meet the needs of students who may have difficulty thriving in traditional public and private schools.

Fusion Academy opened its Ardmore location earlier this year, the first Pennsylvania campus of the unique private school that emphasizes one-on-one instruction tailored to the student’s needs and interests.

The middle and high school puts positive relationships in front of the learning process, offering classrooms with just one student and one teacher where compassion, creativity, and flexibility steer the method of teaching to each student’s strengths and challenges.

In a Fusion one-to-one classroom, the educational experience is customized to ignite a student’s passion for learning. Classes are self-paced and course material is presented in ways that suit students’ individual interests, strengths and challenges. A homework-free education takes stress off both the student and the parents, and allows students the opportunity to thrive socially, emotionally, and academically.

Fusion was modeled around the needs of students who weren’t finding their place in more traditional school environments – whether they struggled with learning differences or disabilities, ADHD, social issues, the rigid scheduling of ordinary schools, or the boredom of a classroom not geared to accelerated learners. Many of their students feel they don’t ‘fit’ at a traditional school. Fusion serves kids who aren’t flourishing in a conventional environment and offers them a community where they feel connected, supported, and understood.

Accreditation allows students to earn transferable class credits and opens doors to scholarships, loans, and military opportunities – while ensuring that every student receives the highest quality education.
