Call for Entries: 2019 Student Book Scholars Applications Open

Written by paigewolf

With one out of every four students reporting they experience some form of bullying, it is a topic on the mind of most parents.

To help tackle this problem, the National Youth Foundation teamed up with players from the NBA and the NFL to host a student book contest.  NBA players Robert Covington of the Minnesota Timberwolves and Frank Mason III of the Sacramento Kings and NFL players Carlos Dunlap of the Cincinnati Bengals and Jalen Mills of the World 2018 Champion Philadelphia Eagles will serve as judges for a national writing contest on Bullying.

The contest calls upon students in grades K to 8 to work in teams to write and illustrate an original picture book on the theme of bullying.  The books will be judged on the story, art, and theme.  The winning team will receive a school or community center visit from an NBA or NFL player.  They will also have their book published and will win $500 in cash.
