Common sense gun control. Better environmental protections. Cleaner, safer schools. There’s a lot on parents’ minds beyond just homework and getting to activities on time.

Fortunately there are local organizations with concerned parents in mind making a real difference in our communities and beyond. Here are just a few, but I hope to expand this list with more groups and opportunities! Please leave your ideas in the comments!

Moms Demand Action

Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America is a non-partisan grassroots movement to mobilize moms, families and everyday Americans to advocate for stronger gun laws. Find your local chapter here.

Moms Clean Air Force

Moms Clean Air Force is a community of moms and dads united against air pollution – including the urgent crisis of our changing climate – to protect our children’s health. Philly Healthy Schools Initiative (PHSI) brings together parents, teachers, principals, students, community members, and public health experts from Philadelphia and around the country to develop a plan to address the environmental health threats found in our school buildings.
