TechGirlz Offers Free Programs to Help Close Tech Gender Gap

Among the amazing free resources for tweens in the Philadelphia is TechGirlz, a nonprofit organization inspiring middle school girls to explore the possibilities of technology to empower their future careers.

TechGirlz is dedicated to reducing the gender gap in technology occupations, by focusing on girls at the crucial middle school age. They offer free workshops to get girls interested in different kinds of technology, show them varied career options, and connect them with professionals in technology fields.

The organization accomplishes its mission through the creation of FREE, fun, interactive tech workshops led by industry professionals, leaders, and students. The “TechShopz” cover a wide range of topics including robotics, programming, game design, app design, and more.

TechGirlz was founded in 2010 by Tracey Welson-Rossman, CMO of Chariot Solutions. Its vision is to create a world where girls have a lifelong passion and confidence in their use of technology throughout their careers.
