Cookie Conundrum Solved! Philadelphia Mom Creates Allergen-Free Cookie Dough For All

Written by paigewolf

Philadelphia mom Pattie Lerner was determined to find healthy and fun snack alternatives for her daughter who was diagnosed with Celiac, an increasingly common autoimmune disease.

Five years ago, she started baking gluten-free products in her home kitchen. And one of those treats is now a national hit – certified gluten-free, edible and bake-able cookie dough!

Her latest product Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough On-the-Go is in 800 Wawa stores nationwide. Other varieties include edible sugar cookie dough, edible chocolate chip brownie dough, and a break-and-bake chocolate chip cookie dough tray.

Anyone can eat her edible cookie dough straight from the jar or bake into cookies and brownies. Now, kids with the eight top allergens – gluten, dairy, soy, peanuts, treenuts, egg, shellfish, fish, preservatives, gums, and dyes – can participate in birthday parties, sleepovers, school functions and other kid-friendly activities without the threat of an emergency room visit.

Sweet Megan products are made by a local Philadelphia co-packer in a dedicated gluten free facility that is also SQF (Safe Quality Food) certified.

According to the non-profit Food Allergy Research and Education (FARE), every three minutes a food allergy reaction sends someone to the emergency room.  Researchers estimate that up to 15 million Americans have food allergies, including 5.9 million children under age 18.

No child should be denied the pleasure of licking cookie dough off a spoon or eating it straight out of the container!

Learn more about these awesome products at sweetmeganbakery.com and stay tuned for a special super-sweet upcoming PhillyTweens event where you can taste all the dough!
