At-Home Anthro LIVE: Painting Like the Ancients
May 27, 2020 – 11:00 am – 11:30 am EDT
Bring your natural curiosity and craftiness into FREE live learning sessions by Penn Museum educators, on Facebook! Join these 30-minute sessions—perfect for elementary to middle school kids—to dig deeper into world cultures, archaeology, or anthropology with demonstrations of hands-on projects you can try at home!
Humans use colors to communicate messages to others: we use color on the clothes we wear, in the foods we eat, and in paints for our houses, furniture, and artworks. But where do these colors come from? Join Museum educators to explore how our ancestors unlocked the science of color. Then, create your own paint recipe using your ingredients found around your home!

At 10:55 am on the morning of the At-Home Anthro LIVE workshop, go to the Penn Museum’s Facebook page. The live-stream will begin at 11:00.
In the bottom left corner of the screen, a small pop-up box should have appeared that will say, “Penn Museum is now live” with an image of the live-stream. Click the box to watch the live-stream. You may comment and ask questions throughout the live-stream session.
